In collaboration with the Openlands Foundation and its TreeKeepers volunteer program, the City of Chicago and its Park District, and the United States Forest Service, The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum hosts “Festival of Trees,” a Science Chicago event!

The Nature Museum and Openlands have developed “Festival of Trees,” a celebration of Chicago’s commitment to greening and the impact of trees upon the people in the urban environment.  The festival is a museum wide event for all ages and interests.  Programs include drop in workshops for teachers and homeowners, live animal critter connections, music, food, drinks, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, and tree exhibit construction and tree-based art installations, all related to the urban forest in which we live.  It is an opportunity to learn, create, and gain a deeper appreciation for a valuable natural resource, trees.

This website features information on the Festival, and information for educators, homeowners, and activists.
