Register for all Early Childhood program classes by clicking the corresponding PayPal link. Registration forms are also available to submit via mail or fax. For all programs, space is limited and registration is required.     Conservation Station

    Children & Family | Recurring Event: Thursdays in July

    Description

    There are many organizations making an effort to help the status of animals and plants. Each week in July, a different organization will be here to let you know how you can help.
    July 3: Plants of Concern
    This organization monitors the Chicago region’s rarest plants and provides important data used for conservation.
    July 10: Chicago Zoological Society- Bison Project
    Learn about how conservationists have saved the North American bison and what you can do to help.
    July 17: Beespotter
    Learn about honeybees and bumblebees and contribute to a nationwide effort that collects information on the population status of these important pollinators.
    July 24: Zooniverse- Condor Watch
    The critically endangered California condor population is suffering from the effects of lead poisoning. Learn how to participate in tracking locations and behaviors to detect early warning signs of the illness.
    July 31: Chicago Zoological Society- Shorebird Watch
    Shorebird species depend on a healthy sea and land. Join us for interactive activities to explore the challenges shorebirds face in a changing habitat.

    Mr. Singer

    Children & Family | Recurring Event: 1st Thursday of every month

    Description

    Mr. Singer’s 30-minute sing-a-long is high energy, educational and, most of all, a ton of musical fun. Little ones sing, clap and dance with their caregiver to up- tempo songs that focus on the natural world around them. Have fun, discover and sing!
    Cost: Free with Museum admission.

    Bugapalooza!

    Description

    Join us for our annual celebration of the buggy world of invertebrates! Experience a bug zoo, take bug walks through the prairie, try some sweet and savory bug snacks (all bugs are cooked!), bug crafts and much more.
    Cost: Adult/Member $10, Adult/Non-Member $15, Child/Member $7, Child Non-Member $10.
