Human changes to the land can put pressures on peregrine populations. Road-building opens peregrine habitats to human access, which can lead to nest-robbing and other disturbances. The power lines that bring electricity to human homes can electrocute birds that fly into them.

Deforestation (cutting down forests) can reduce the populations of small birds which the peregrines prey upon.
