Instant Grassification 2.0
Why do we have lawns in some places and not others? Thirty-five local school children were asked to consider this question as they traveled the city with their own small mats of sod. Their answers, along with their pictures and field reports, reveal many of the same concerns and insights familiar to urban planners and landscape architects. Some locations lend themselves to turf grass better than others.
This map shows where each student took his or her personal lawn. Click on the tufts of grass for more student pictures and field reports.
