We are now accepting applications for Fall 2010 internships! The application deadline is August 31.

When are internships offered?

Internships are offered each Summer, Fall, and Winter. Start dates are roughly June 1, September 1, and February 1, although many positions are flexible and can be tailored to your school schedule. Application deadlines are announced when positions for each term are posted.

Must I have a background in science or nature?

No! Our internship program spans all museum departments, from the biology lab, to the public programs, to behind-the-scenes work like marketing, graphic design, Spanish translation, and more. A healthy love for nature is a plus, but not all interns need a background in the sciences.

Are interns paid?

Internships are mostly unpaid (some internships are paid), but participation may apply toward academic credit. Students are responsible for making arrangements with their school to receive academic credit.

Do I have to be a college student?

The program is designed for undergraduates and graduate students, however all applicants with the requisite qualifications are encouraged to apply.
