American Girl Partnership
Nature Museum Celebrates American Girl's 2010 Girl of the Year®
The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is teaming up with American Girl Place Chicago to launch Lanie Holland, the 2010 Girl of the Year® with a very special nature story. Lanie loves wildlife and the outdoors. Through everyday experiences like growing a garden, bird-watching, camping in her backyard, and creating a butterfly habitat, Lanie discovers how everything in nature is connected.
As part of the partnership, Nature Museum educators will visit American Girl Place Chicago every Saturday in January to showcase the Museum's live animals and preserved butterfly and bird specimens from the Chicago Academy of Sciences 150+ year-old Collections. The Nature Museum and American Girl Place will continue their partnership throughout 2010, with ongoing Girl of the Year® Butterfly Tours and an exclusive fall overnight for American Girl fans.
