The Works of Amy Lowry

Chicago artist Amy Lowry’s Results is a series of paintings done in ink and gouache on Japanese paper. The images represent species directly endangered by changes in our global climate and are on display in the Museum’s third floor conference room. To see them, ask a representative at the front desk.

The Fragile Polar Bear is a mosaic made from glass, tile, ceramic, and coral. A polar bear is one of the fiercest mammals in North American, yet as global warming melts its icy habitat the species’ continued survival hangs in a delicate balance. Lowry’s sculpture of a polar bear is on display on Level 2, next to the elevator.
